We believe in the support of a strong community, so we also offer refresher courses and meet-ups once a month where students can come in and talk ukulele. By the end of 2018, the initiative will have a Cambodian Music Coordinator working with us to ensure the program is as strong as it can be.
Bondi Ukuleles strongly believes in the value of music in education and believe it should be valued equally alongside reading, writing and numeracy in school curricula. Research has shown that musical education enhances academic achievement, promotes wellbeing, improves cognitive abilities and helps to treat anxiety and depression. If children are exposed to a musical instrument before the age of 7, they have an enhanced ability to learn, to take in information; and learn new concepts.
Music is an intrinsic part of human life, regardless of culture or geography, and everyone deserves the right to experience this. Through music we become stronger individuals and create a more positive future. With your help, we can change the lives of thousands of children and ensure every student has the chance play music in their classroom.
