How Do You Speed Up Ukulele Chord Changes?
A Little Info About This Lesson
Have you ever played your ukulele through the first part of a song, and then, you hit a brick wall?
I mean, your timing is spot on. But as you switch to the next chord, you stumbled. You were not able to change the chord in time.
It's a bit frustrating, isn't it?
It happens to everyone.
The good news is, you can do something about this.
Let me show you the quickest way to speed up your chord changes…
All it takes is just 30 seconds of your time to practise.
Why the 30 seconds? you ask. Well, it may sound absurd but the idea here is to keep your focus in a short period of time. And with just 30 seconds, you can easily speed up your skill in changing chords.
For example...
You’re struggling to transition from chords A to B as quickly as you can. You’re about half a second delayed. And you're wondering how you can improve moving your fingers from one chord to another without making an error.
When your timing is really bad, it affects the rhythm of the whole song. And you don’t want this to happen.
Think about performing in front of your friends and family (or on stage!).
You know, it’s quite embarrassing to make an error whilst you’re in front of an audience (*wink* wink*).
You have to fix this problem.
What you need to do
You may take a break and start over if you must. Simple isn’t it? But this exercise will help you get better over time.
To make it more exciting, you can count how many times you were able to successfully switch chords in 30 seconds. Try to beat your previous score each time you practise. This will increase your drive to get better every day.
And before you know it, you’ll be able to switch chords easily in no time!
