Sun, sea and surf. Think of Miami and (without giving your age away) you can almost see Don Johnson chasing after evil-doers in his immaculate white blazer, hopping over sunbathers and skipping through the streets in Miami Vice-fame. Thousands of palm trees line the streets and combines with the tropical climate to make this city in the Sunshine State one of the most sought-after holiday destinations. With a serious Latin influence, Miami rates as a top musical and cultural hub in the USA and its diverse range of people have brought all sorts of influences to these shores, including the merengue from Dominica and Reggae from the Caribbean islands.

!

Climate note for your ukulele: Miami is humid year-round (70-80%), and that's actually fine for a ukulele. The two killers are leaving the uke in a parked car (140F+ inside in summer) and over-AC'd condos that drop indoor humidity into the 20s. Use a hard case in transit, never leave it in the car, and run a sound-hole humidifier January through March if your AC runs cold.

Frequently Asked About Ukulele Miami

Where can I buy a ukulele in Miami?

Bondi ships to Miami in 1-3 days with a free songbook bundle. Local options include Sam Ash in Hialeah, Guitar Center in Doral, and Replay Guitar Exchange for used. For a concert mahogany set up out of the box, Bondi is the most direct option.

Are there ukulele lessons in Miami?

Sam Ash in Hialeah teaches ukulele alongside guitar. The Miami Ukulele Meetup runs free monthly strum-alongs and is the fastest way to learn from other players. Beginners welcome.

When does the Miami ukulele meetup happen?

Schedule shifts month to month. Search Meetup for Miami ukulele to find the next session. Sessions usually run weekend afternoons at libraries or coffee shops. Free, all skill levels.

What's the best ukulele for a beginner in Miami?

A concert-size mahogany. Miami humidity is fine for ukes; the killer is leaving one in a hot parked car. Bondi's concert mahogany ships set up and tuned with a hard case, gig bag, and songbook. Use the hard case any time you're moving the uke between car and house.

Is there a ukulele festival in Miami?

No festival in Miami itself. The closest big one is the Tampa Bay Ukulele Getaway in November (4 hours up I-75), run by the world's largest ukulele club. Miami's own festivals lean Latin (Calle Ocho), EDM (Ultra), and hip-hop (Rolling Loud).

How long does Bondi shipping take to Miami?

1-3 business days from our US warehouse via tracked express courier. Free shipping on orders over $50.

Can I find used ukuleles in Miami?

Reverb, Craigslist Miami, and the used wall at Guitar Center turn over ukes. The catch in South Florida: a used uke that spent time in a hot car has a warped neck and a loose bridge. Inspect the action and the bridge glue line. New from Bondi includes setup, a hard case, and warranty.

What music genres has Miami produced?

Latin pop (Gloria Estefan, Pitbull, Jon Secada), Miami bass (Uncle Luke, 2 Live Crew), EDM (Steve Aoki), and modern hip-hop (DJ Khaled, Sean Kingston). The ukulele fits the singer-songwriter and Latin acoustic side well, especially with the Cuban tres tradition that's already nylon-string and small-bodied.
